Investment Professionals:

Brian Wrubel, Managing Director - Brian has been with the firm since 1989.  He is the primary consultant on several of the firm’s key relationships. In addition, Brian serves as the Director of the Public and Taft-Hartley service groups. Brian is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Funds and has been a featured speaker at various conferences. Prior to joining Marquette, Brian was with Oppenheimer & Co., working on the institutional equity trading desk in the Chicago office. Education: B.A. Economics, Political Science, University of Wisconsin, Madison. Member of Economics Club of Chicago.  Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chicago.

Tim Fallon, CIMA®, Managing Director – Tim serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s relationships.  In addition to client relationships, Tim coordinates and oversees the Eleemosynary Services Team at Marquette.  Tim was formerly with the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of the United Methodist Church where he had oversight in many aspects of the multi-billion dollar, socially-screened investment program.  Tim began his career at SEI Capital Resources where he worked directly with corporate, endowment, and foundation clients. Tim is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and obtained the title Certified Investment Management Analyst from IMCA’s accreditation program at the Wharton School of Business.  Tim serves on the Board of the CFA Society of Chicago and is on the Corporate Recruitment Committee for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Illinois Chapter.  Tim is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.  Education:  B.S. Business Administration: Finance, Marquette University.

Patrick Krolak, Managing Director  Pat serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Pat is responsible for modeling and overseeing Marquette’s asset allocation studies and quantitative research. Before joining Marquette Associates, he was a research assistant in high-energy physics at the University of Chicago, where he was involved with projects at FermiLab, Argonne National Laboratory, and CERN. Education: B.A. Physics - Honors Graduate, University of Chicago. Pat is a Member of the Investment Task Force for the Advisory Committee to the Pension Division of the State of Illinois and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).

Tim Burdick, CFA, Managing Director Tim serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. Prior to joining Marquette, Tim was at the Northern Trust Company, where he divided time between investment consulting and client servicing responsibilities. Education: M.M., Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business; B.S. Finance, Northern Illinois University. Tim is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Brett Christenson, CFP®, CFA, Managing Director – Brett serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Brett is responsible for coordinating the analysis of alternative strategy products. Brett joined the firm from American Financial Resources where he provided financial advisory services and quantitative research for clients. Education: B.A. Economics, University of Wisconsin, Madison. Brett is a CFA Charterholder, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM Practitioner and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Tim Hamann, Managing Associate – Tim serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Tim is Chair of the firm’s Client Oversight Committee and reviews alternative strategy products. Prior to joining Marquette, Tim was at the Northern Trust Company, where he was responsible for portfolio management of over $1.5 billion in index funds, structured equity products and cash overlay services. Tim began his career at Firstar Bank in Madison, Wisconsin. Education: B.S. Economics, University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Nichole Roman-Bhatty, CIMA®, Managing Associate Nichole serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. Nichole’s primary client focus is Eleemosynary and Corporate Plans. In addition, Nichole coordinates oversight of investment-related education of socially responsible investments, cash flow analysis, and other related topics. Nichole also coordinates defined contribution and mutual fund research as well as reviews international investment management firms. Nichole was formerly a Credit Manager at Norwest Financial. Education: B.S. Finance, Michigan State University. Nichole is also the Events Planning Committee Chair for Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Kelli Schrade, Vice President and Director of Manager Research – Kelli serves as the director of the firm's manager research, with primary oversight of the domestic equity managers. In addition, she oversees the other asset classes as Chair of the Investment Manager Search Committee. Before joining Marquette, Kelli was an investment advisor with Christian Brothers Investment Services. She also served as a managing editor and fund analyst at Morningstar, Inc. for seven years, specializing in domestic-equity funds. Kelli has been quoted as an expert on the mutual fund industry throughout the national media, including Barron's and The Wall Street Journal. Education: A.B. English, Kenyon College. Kelli is also a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago and serves as a board member for Women Investment Professionals-Chicago.

James Wesner, CFA, Vice President – Jamie serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships.  In addition, he is involved with reviewing alternative strategy products. Before joining Marquette, Jamie worked in the Debt Capital Markets division at Banc of America Securities and prior to that held positions with Nuveen Investments and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  Education: B.B.A. Finance, University of Notre Dame; M.B.A. with Distinction - Finance and International Business, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.  Jamie is a CFA Charterholder, a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and a board member of One Acre Fund.

Dan Porter, Vice President – Dan serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships and is involved with reviewing investment managers.  Prior to joining Marquette, Dan worked for Lowery Asset Consulting as an investment consultant, led an asset management division for Griffin, Kubik, Stephens and Thompson, and was a partner at Institutional Capital.  In addition Dan was a member at the Chicago Board of Trade.  Education: B.A. Marketing, Indiana University, M.B.A. Loyola University Chicago.

Doug Oest, Assistant Vice President – Doug serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Doug is involved with capital market research and reviewing custodial, securities lending, and commission recapture providers. Doug joined the firm from WingSpan Partners, where he served as a Performance Analyst. Education: B.B.A. Management and Finance, University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.

Elizabeth Francis, CIMA®, Assistant Vice President Elizabeth is responsible for client analysis and reporting. Elizabeth joined the firm from the Schwerdtle Stamp Company, where she served as the Assistant Controller. Elizabeth is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and is a CIMA® designee. Education: B.S.B.A Finance, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. Elizabeth is also a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Mike Piotrowski, Assistant Vice President Mike serves as a consultant on several of the firm's relationships.  In addition, Mike is responsible for reviewing International Equity investment managers.  Mike joined the firm from Morgan Stanley, where he served as a Financial Advisor. Education: B.A. Telecommunications, Business Minor, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.

David Wernecke, Senior Research Analyst David is responsible for client analysis and reporting. In addition, David is involved with capital market research and reviewing alternative strategy products. Education: B.A. Economics, College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio.

Peter Rogers, Senior Research Analyst Peter is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. In addition, Peter is involved with reviewing alternative strategy products. Education: B.S.B.A Finance/Accounting, University of Denver; Master of Science in Finance, University of Denver.  Peter is also a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.  Peter is a Level II candidate in the CFA Program.

Raymond Caprio, Senior Research Analyst Ray is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. In addition, Ray is involved with reviewing small capitalization equity investment management firms. Ray joined the firm from Smith Barney where he was an Investment Analyst involved in multiple aspects of due diligence for client portfolios. Ray began his career as a Credit Specialist at LaSalle Bank in Chicago. Education: B.S. Finance, Bradley University.

Ania Lasek, Senior Research Analyst Ania is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.B.A. Finance, International Business, Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. Ania is also a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Gregory Tatum, Senior Research Analyst Greg is responsible for assisting with the investment manager research process. His duties include documentation of all relevant investment manager materials for the investment manager search process, quantitative analysis of all asset classes, and researching alternative asset classes. Prior to joining Marquette, Greg worked for Fidelity Investments as a Financial Representative and prior to that as a Financial Analyst Assistant at Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance. Education: B.B.A. Finance and Marketing, University of Kentucky, M.B.A. The Ohio State University.

Paul Marchese, Research Analyst – Paul is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Paul joined the firm from The Northern Trust Company where he served as a Portfolio Accounting Analyst supporting The Wealth Management Group. Education: B.S. Finance, Purdue University.

Heather Linich, Research Analyst Heather is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.B.A. Finance, Economics Minor, Loyola University Chicago, Chicago, Illinois. Heather is also a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Mike Spychalski, Research Analyst Mike is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. In addition, Mike is involved in reviewing Fixed Income investment management firms.  Mike joined the firm from Bear Stearns, where he served as a Portfolio Administrator in the Private Client Services division. Education: B.S. Economics, DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois.

Neil Capps, Research Analyst Neil is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Neil joined the firm from Merrill Lynch & Co., where he served as an Associate Portfolio Officer in the Commercial Finance division. Education: B.S. in Business Administration, Minor in Japanese, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Eric Gaylord, Performance Analyst – Eric is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis.  Education: B.S. Finance, Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Luke Meagher, Performance Analyst – Luke is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis.  Education: B.S. Finance, Economics Minor, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.

Shannon Fetty, Performance Analyst – Shannon is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis.  Education: B.S. Finance, Purdue University Krannert School of Business.

Bhavin Patel, Performance Analyst – Bhavin is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis.  Education: B.S. Finance, International Business Minor, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, Illinois.

Sharon Estill, Performance Analyst Sharon is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.S. Architecture, Journalism Minor, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Rob Britenbach, Performance AnalystRob is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.S. Economics, University of Illinois at Chicago; M.S. Economics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Mary Pettigree, CPA, Senior Vice President of Finance & Treasurer – Mary is responsible for all corporate financial matters, regulatory issues, and employee benefits. Before joining Marquette, Mary was an independent contractor counseling start-up companies. She is a former Vice President and Assistant Treasurer of IDC Services, providing specialized financial services to the entertainment and advertising industries. Education: B.S. Accounting, Roosevelt University. Mary is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Illinois CPA Society. She is a former advisory board member for the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in Chicago.

Rita Cirullo, Executive Assistant – Rita serves as a direct assistant to the senior executives of the firm. In addition, she is responsible for investment manager compliance reporting, assisting the manager research team, and developing policies and procedures for daily office activities. Rita also oversees daily firm operations and provides administrative oversight. Rita serves as a State of Illinois Notary Public and is pursuing her B.S. in Business at Trinity Christian College.

Kirsten Larsen, Administrative Assistant – Kirsten is responsible for switchboard operation, report production, mail and bank statement coordination and providing daily administrative support to the firm. In addition, she assists in database management, mass mailings and daily operations. Kirsten is pursuing her A.S. in Business Administration with plans to transfer to a four-year university.
