Investment Professionals:

Brian Wrubel, Managing Director - Brian has been with the firm since 1989. He is the primary consultant on several of the firm’s key relationships. In addition, Brian serves as the Director of the Public and Taft-Hartley service groups. Brian is an owner of the firm and also serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Brian is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Funds and has been a featured speaker at various conferences. Prior to joining Marquette, Brian was with Oppenheimer & Co., working on the equity trading desk in the Chicago office. Education: B.A., University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is a Member of Economics Club of Chicago and a Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chicago.

Tim Fallon, CIMA®, Managing Director – Tim serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition to client relationships, Tim coordinates and oversees the Eleemosynary Services Team at Marquette. Tim is an owner of the company and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. Tim was formerly with the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of the United Methodist Church where he had oversight in many aspects of the multi-billion dollar, socially-screened investment program. Tim began his career at SEI Capital Resources where he worked directly with corporate, endowment, and foundation clients. Education: B.S. Business Administration: Finance, Marquette University. Tim is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and obtained the title Certified Investment Management Analyst from IMCA’s accreditation program at the Wharton School of Business. Tim formerly served on the Board of the CFA Society of Chicago and is on the Voluntary Leadership Committee for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Illinois Chapter. He is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Patrick Krolak, Managing Director Pat serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Pat is responsible for modeling and overseeing Marquette’s asset allocation studies and quantitative research. He is an owner of the company and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and Investment Committee. Before joining Marquette Associates, he was a research assistant in high-energy physics at the University of Chicago, where he was involved with projects at Fermi Lab, Argonne National Laboratory, and CERN. Education: B.A. Physics - Honors Graduate, University of Chicago. Pat is a Member of the Investment Task Force for the Advisory Committee to the Pension Division of the State of Illinois and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).

Tim Burdick, CFA, Managing Director Tim’s primary responsibility is to serve as the lead consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. Tim is also an owner of the firm, and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Tim also serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Marquette, Tim spent ten years at the Northern Trust Company, where he divided his time between investment consulting and client servicing responsibilities. Education: M.M., Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business; B.S. Finance, Northern Illinois University. Tim is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Brett Christenson, CFP®, CFA, Managing Director – Brett serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Brett is responsible for coordinating the analysis of alternative strategy products. Brett is an owner of the firm and serves on the firm’s Operations Committee and Investment Manager Search Committee. Brett joined the firm from American Financial Resources where he provided financial advisory services and quantitative research for clients. Education: B.A. Economics, University of Wisconsin, Madison. Brett is a CFA Charterholder, a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Tim Hamann, Managing Partner – Tim serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. Tim is an owner of the company and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee, Operations Committee and Investment Committee. Prior to joining Marquette, Tim spent eight years at the Northern Trust Company, where he divided his time between institutional portfolio management (index funds, structured equity products and cash overlay services) and client servicing responsibilities with ERISA plans. Tim began his career at Firstar Bank in Madison, Wisconsin. Education: B.S. Economics, University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Nichole Roman-Bhatty, CIMA®, Managing Partner Nichole serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. Nichole’s primary client focus is Eleemosynary, Public, and Corporate Plans. In addition, Nichole coordinates oversight of investment-related education of socially responsible investments, cash flow analysis, and other related topics. She also coordinates defined contribution and mutual fund research as well as reviews international investment management firms. Nichole is an owner of the company and serves on the firm’s Operations Committee and Investment Manager Search Committee. Nichole was formerly a Credit Manager at Norwest Financial. Education: B.S. Finance, Michigan State University. Nichole is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). Nichole is also the Past President for Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Kelli Schrade, Vice President and Director of Manager Research – Kelli serves as the director of the firm's manager research, with primary oversight of the domestic equity managers. In addition, she oversees the other asset classes as Chair of the Investment Manager Search Committee. Before joining Marquette, Kelli was an investment advisor with Christian Brothers Investment Services. She also served as a managing editor and fund analyst at Morningstar, Inc. for seven years, specializing in domestic-equity funds. Kelli has been quoted as an expert on the mutual fund industry throughout the national media, including Barron's and The Wall Street Journal. Education: A.B. English, Kenyon College. Kelli is also a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago, NASP (National Association of Securities Professionals), and serves as a board member for Women Investment Professionals - Chicago.

Greg Leonberger, FSA, Vice President and Director of Research – As the Director of Research, Greg is responsible for creating the firm’s capital markets research and directing the firm’s investment strategies and policy. In addition, he serves as the Chairperson of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Marquette, Greg was an actuarial consultant for nine years at Hewitt Associates, where he consulted on all aspects of pension and postretirement welfare plans, including funding, accounting, strategy, design, and regulatory compliance. Education: B.S. Mathematics and Economics, University of Notre Dame; M.B.A. with Honors – Analytic Finance, The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Greg is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Doug Oest, Vice President – Doug serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Doug is involved with capital market research and reviewing custodial, securities lending, and commission recapture providers. Doug serves on the firm’s Operations Committee and Investment Committee. Doug joined the firm from WingSpan Partners, where he served as a Performance Analyst. Education: B.B.A. Management and Finance, University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.

James Wesner, CFA, Vice President – Jamie serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, he is involved with reviewing alternative strategy products. Jamie serves on the firm’s Investment Manager Search Committee. Before joining Marquette, Jamie worked in the Debt Capital Markets division at Banc of America Securities and prior to that held positions with Nuveen Investments and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Education: B.B.A. Finance, University of Notre Dame; M.B.A. with Distinction - Finance and International Business, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Jamie is a CFA Charterholder, a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and a board member of One Acre Fund.

David H. Smith, Vice President – Dave serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. Prior to joining Marquette, Dave was a Vice President of Institutional Sales at Northern Trust Global Investments where he was responsible for marketing to significant institutional investors. Dave began his career at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange with a proprietary derivatives trading firm. Education: B.S. Business Administration, University of Richmond, VA. M.B.A, Finance, The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Dave is currently a Level II candidate for the CFA designation.

Mike Piotrowski, Assistant Vice President Mike serves as a consultant on several of the firm's relationships. Mike’s primary client focus is Taft-Hartley and Public Plans. In addition, Mike serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and Investment Manager Committee. Mike joined the firm from Morgan Stanley, where he served as a Financial Advisor. Education: B.A. Telecommunications, Business Minor, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Mike is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and a CIMA® candidate.

Raymond Caprio, Assistant Vice President Ray serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s Taft-Hartley and Public Plan relationships. In addition, Ray is involved with reviewing small capitalization equity investment management firms. Ray serves on the firm’s Investment Manager Search Committee. Ray joined the firm from Smith Barney where he was an Investment Analyst involved in multiple aspects of due diligence for client portfolios. Education: B.S. Finance, Bradley University. Ray is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and a CIMA® candidate.

Peter Rogers, CFA, Assistant Vice President Peter is responsible for reviewing alternative investment research and due diligence. Peter’s primary responsibilities include the sourcing, due diligence, and analysis of real estate and infrastructure funds. In addition, Peter serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and Investment Manager Search Committee. Education: B.S.B.A Finance/Accounting, University of Denver; Master of Science in Finance, University of Denver. Peter is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute, as well as the CFA Society of Chicago. He is currently enrolled in the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) program as a Level I candidate.

Nat Kellogg, CFA, Senior Research Analyst – Nat is responsible for reviewing alternative investment research and due diligence particularly in the hedge fund and private equity asset classes. Nat is a member of the firm’s Investment Manager Search Committee. Before joining Marquette Nat was a Senior Equity Analyst at Hudson Securities covering the Electrical Equipment and Basic Materials sectors. Prior to that Nat was an Equity Analyst at Brait Specialized Funds, a small-cap focused long/short equity hedge fund. Education: B.A. History, Middlebury College. Nat is currently pursuing an M.B.A. degree at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Nat is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Elizabeth Francis, CIMA®, Senior Client Analyst/Vice President As a member of a consulting team; Elizabeth is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Additionally, Elizabeth is responsible for client analysis and reporting and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. Elizabeth joined the firm from the Schwerdtle Stamp Company, where she served as the Assistant Controller. Education: B.S.B.A Finance, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. Elizabeth is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and is a CIMA® designee. Elizabeth is a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

David Wernecke, Senior Analyst/Assistant Vice President As a member of a consulting team; Dave is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Dave is also responsible for client analysis and reporting. In addition, Dave is involved with capital market research and reviewing alternative strategy products. Dave serves on the firm’s Investment Manager Search Committee. Education: B.A. Economics, The College of Wooster. David is currently pursuing an M.B.A degree at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Ania Lasek, Senior Client Analyst/Assistant Vice President As a member of a consulting team; Ania is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Additionally, Ania is responsible for client analysis and reporting. Education: B.B.A. Finance, International Business, Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. Ania is a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Paul Marchese, Senior Client Analyst – As a member of a consulting team; Paul is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Additionally, Paul is responsible for client analysis and reporting. Paul joined the firm from The Northern Trust Company where he served as a Portfolio Accounting Analyst supporting The Wealth Management Group. Education: B.S. Finance, Purdue University.

Mike Spychalski, Client Analyst As a member of a consulting team; Mike is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Mike is also responsible for client analysis and reporting. In addition, Mike is involved in reviewing Fixed Income investment management firms and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and Investment Manager Search Committee. Mike joined the firm from Bear Stearns, where he served as a Portfolio Administrator in the Private Client Services division. Education: B.S. Economics, DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois.

Eric Gaylord, Client Analyst – As a member of a consulting team; Eric is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Additionally, Eric is responsible for client analysis and reporting. Education: B.S. Finance, Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Luke Meagher, Client Analyst – As a member of a consulting team; Luke is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Luke is also responsible for client analysis and reporting. In addition, Luke is responsible for reviewing International Equity investment management firms. Luke serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and Investment Manager Search Committee. Education: B.S. Finance, Economics Minor, Northern Illinois University.

Neil Capps, Client Analyst As a member of a consulting team; Neil is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Additionally, Neil is responsible for client analysis and reporting. Neil joined the firm from Merrill Lynch & Co., where he served as an Associate Portfolio Officer in the Commercial Finance division. Education: B.S. in Business Administration, Minor in Japanese, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Megan Kaskie, Client Analyst As a member of a consulting team; Megan is actively involved in the daily management and administration of client relationships. Additionally, Megan is responsible for client analysis and reporting. Education: B.S. Economics, Management Information Systems Minor, Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana. Megan is a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Rob Britenbach, Research Data AnalystRob is responsible for the collection and analysis of investment data, and utilizes the data to produce client reports. He performs quantitative analysis for both macro-economic and asset class specific research. Education: B.S. Economics, University of Illinois at Chicago; M.S. Economics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.

Tai-Chi Kuo, Report AnalystTai-Chi is responsible for client report analysis and also provides business analysis and QA support for IT projects. Tai-Chi was most recently at CoAMS, Inc. in Chicago where he served as an Account Executive supporting clients in the development and management of their web-based marketing programs. Education: B.S. in Advertising, Minor in East Asian Languages and Culture, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. Tai-Chi is currently pursuing his J.D. at Loyola University, Chicago.

Sharon Estill, Team Leader - Performance Analytics Sharon’s primary responsibility is overseeing the Performance Group. She is also responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.S. Architecture, Journalism Minor, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. Sharon is a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Jose Sanchez, Senior Performance AnalystJose is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.S. Finance, DePaul University College of Commerce, Chicago, IL.

Alycia Koontz, Performance Analyst – Alycia is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Prior to working at Marquette, Alycia was at Principal Global Investors. Education: B.A. Management and Liberal Arts, Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, PA. Alycia is a member of Women Investment Professionals – Chicago.

Shandon Kuehn, Performance Analyst Shandon is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Prior to working at Marquette, Shandon worked at PepsiCo Chicago in the Customer Finance department. Education: B.S. Finance, Miami University, Oxford, OH.

David Hernandez, Performance Analyst David is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. David was most recently at T-Mobile in Chicago as a store manager. Education: B.A., Finance, DePaul University. David is currently pursuing his MBA at DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

Justin Wiesenfeld, Performance AnalystJustin is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.A. Economics, Kenyon College, Gambier, OH.

Jeffrey Stanly, Performance Analyst Jeff is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Education: B.S. Finance and Marketing, Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI.

Jeremy Zirin, Performance Analyst Jeremy is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. Sarah Cummins, CPA, Accounting Manager – Sarah has overall responsibility for all accounting and controller functions at Marquette Associates. She has over 18 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and auditing. She was recently at BIK & Co, LLP, a certified public accounting firm as a team member of the CFO/Controller group. Sarah serves on the firm’s Operations Committee. Education: Bachelor of Business Administration, Iowa State University, Ames, IA; Accounting Degree, St. Ambrose University, Davenport, IA.

Kara Laux, PHR, Human Resources Manager – Kara has overall responsibility for the human resource function and serves on the firm’s Operations Committee. She has over 10 years of experience relating to all aspects of human resources in the consulting, services, and education industries. Education: B.S., Business, Miami University; M.B.A., Cleveland State University. Kara is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and is also a national member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Christopher DuFour, Lead Developer – Chris has over 20 years experience in software architecture, design, development and deployment. He is a graduate of Indiana University School of Business and holds professional certifications in key enterprise technologies.

Zak Baker, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Help Desk Analyst – Zak provides support to staff on all company-sponsored software, hardware, and phone systems. Zak is also the front line of support for managers that utilize our questionnaire data request website. Education: B.A. Film Production and Studies, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Chris R. Kuhl, RFP Coordinator – Chris serves as the firm’s RFP Coordinator and also assists consultants on client projects. Most recently, Chris completed a project assignment at William Blair Investment Management. Previously, he was an Investment Associate for Ziegler Capital Management. Education: B.A Economics & Political Science, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL. Chris is currently a Level I candidate for the CFA designation.

Rita Cirullo, Executive Assistant – Rita serves as the direct assistant to the seven senior executives of the firm in coordinating client meetings and events, arranging travel plans, organizing expense reporting, scheduling client and investment manager meetings, maintaining client database, and supporting various client projects. Rita also supports the manager research team in various projects. Rita is also responsible for organizing corporate and client events. Education: B.S., Business, Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights, IL.

Kirsten Larsen, Administrative Assistant – Kirsten is responsible for switchboard operation, report production, mail and bank statement coordination and providing daily administrative support to the firm. In addition, she assists in database management, mass mailings and daily operations. Kirsten is pursuing her A.A.S. in Business Management and Supervision at Joliet Junior College, Joliet, IL.

Sara Hurley, Administrative Assistant – Sara is responsible for switchboard operation, report production, mail and bank statement coordination and providing daily administrative support to the firm. In addition, she assists in database management, mass mailings and daily operations. Education: B.F.A. Fine Arts, University of Utah. Sara is pursuing a B.F.A. in Communication Design at the Harrington College of Design..
