Investment Professionals:
David Fitch Ph.D., Chief Investment Officer – David is one of
the firm’s founding members. He is responsible for developing
strategic capital markets research and quantitative analysis at
Marquette. In addition, he is responsible for overseeing investment
research within the firm. Prior to joining Marquette, David served as
a Vice President with Bear Stearns and was an independent options
trader. Education: Ph.D. Education, Northwestern University; Returning
Scholar - Statistics, University of Chicago; B.A. Economics, Wheaton
College.
Brian Wrubel, Managing Director -
Brian is one of the firm’s founding members. He is the primary
consultant on several of the firm’s key relationships. In addition,
Brian is responsible for the firm’s strategic direction, new business
development. Brian is a member of the International Foundation of Employee
Benefit Funds and has been a featured speaker at various conferences.
Prior to joining Marquette, Brian was with Oppenheimer & Co. working
on the institutional equity trading desk in the Chicago office.
Education: B.A. Economics, Political Science, University of Wisconsin,
Madison.
Tim Fallon, Managing Director – Tim
serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s
relationships. In addition, Tim coordinates and oversees the
investment manager search process at Marquette. Tim was formerly with
the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of the United
Methodist Church, where he had oversight in many aspects of the
multi-billion dollar, socially-screened investment program. Tim began
his career at SEI Capital Resources where he worked directly with
corporate, endowment, and foundation clients. Education: B.S. Business
Administration: Finance, Marquette University.
Patrick Krolak, Managing Director – Pat serves as the primary
consultant on several of the firm’s relationships. In addition, Pat is
responsible for modeling and overseeing Marquette’s asset allocation
studies and quantitative research. Before joining Marquette
Associates, he was a research assistant in high-energy physics at the
University of Chicago, where he was involved with projects at FermiLab,
Argonne National Laboratory, and CERN. Education: B.A. Physics -
Honors Graduate, University of Chicago. Member of the Investment Task
Force for the Advisory Committee to the Pension Division of the State
of Illinois.
Tim Burdick, CFA, Managing Director
- Tim serves as the primary consultant on several of the firm’s
relationships. In addition, Tim acts as the firm’s Director of
Research, as well as coordinates and oversees the custodial bank
search process at Marquette. Prior to joining Marquette, Tim was at
the Northern Trust Company, where he divided time between investment
consulting and client servicing responsibilities. Education: M.M.,
Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business; B.S.
Finance, Northern Illinois University. Tim is a CFA charterholder. Tim
is also a Certified Cash Manager as designated by the Association of
Financial Professionals.
Brett Christenson, CFP®, Vice President –
Brett serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships
and is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis.
In addition, Brett is responsible for performing quantitative and
capital markets research. Brett also oversees the alternative
investment search process at Marquette. Brett joined the firm from
American Financial Resources where he provided financial advisory
services and quantitative research for clients. Education: B.A.
Economics, University of Wisconsin, Madison. Certified Financial
Planning Practitioner. Brett is a level III candidate in the C.F.A.
program.
Tim Hamann, Vice President – Tim
serves as a consultant on several of the firm’s relationships and is
responsible for project management and market analysis. In addition,
Tim is responsible for performing quantitative and capital markets
research. Prior to joining Marquette, Tim was at the Northern Trust
Company, where he was responsible for portfolio management of over
$1.5 billion in index-based assets. Tim began his career at Firstar
Bank in Madison, Wisconsin. Education: B.A. Economics, University of
Wisconsin, Madison. Tim is a level II candidate in the C.F.A. program.
Nichole Roman, Assistant Vice President - Nichole serves as a
consultant on several of the firm’s relationships and is responsible
for client analysis and reporting. In addition, Nichole coordinates
defined contribution and mutual fund research as well as reviewing
international investment management firms. Nichole was formerly a
Credit Manager at Norwest Financial. Education: B.S. Finance, Michigan
State University. Nichole is a level II candidate in the C.F.A.
program. Nichole is also the Events Planning Committee Chair for Women
in Pensions – Chicago.
Frank Braden, Assistant
Vice President – Frank serves as a consultant on several of the
firm’s relationships and is responsible for risk and compliance
analysis. He is also responsible for overseeing Marquette’s data
vendors, performing capital markets research, and reviewing large
capitalization equity investment management firms. Prior to joining
Marquette, Frank was a research assistant at Zacks Investment Research
in Chicago. Education: B.A. Economics, Washington & Lee University.

Trevor Henry, Research Analyst – Trevor is responsible for
performance calculations and client analysis. In addition, Trevor is
involved with capital market research and reviewing small
capitalization equity investment management firms. Trevor joined the
firm from the Colorado Outdoor Education Center, where he served as an
instructor. Education: B.A. Economics and Anthropology, Miami
University, Oxford, Ohio. Trevor is a level II candidate in the C.F.A.
program.
Rodney Overcash, Research Analyst – Rodney
is responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. In
addition, Rodney is involved with capital market research and
reviewing mid-capitalization equity investment management firms.
Rodney joined the firm from Teach for America, where he served as the
Assistant Director of Midwest Recruitment. Education: B.A. Economics
and International Studies, University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. Thesis work completed at Oxford University, Oxford England, U.K.
Rodney is a level I candidate in the C.F.A. program.
Tim Walters, Research Analyst – Tim is
responsible for performance calculations and client analysis. In
addition, Tim is involved with capital market research efforts and
reviewing fixed income investment management firms. Education: B.A.
Economics, Denison University, Granville, Ohio. Tim is a level I
candidate in the C.F.A. program.
Elizabeth Francis, Research Analyst –
Elizabeth is responsible for performance calculations and client
analysis. In addition, Elizabeth is involved with capital market and
general research efforts. Elizabeth joined the firm from the
Schwerdtle Stamp Company, where she served as an Assistant Controller.
Education: B.S.B.A Finance, Georgetown University, Washington, DC.

Nancy
Tyrrell, Research Analyst – Nancy is responsible for performance
calculations and client analysis. In addition, Nancy is involved with
capital market and general research efforts. Education: B.A. Economics
and Political Science, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North
Carolina. Member, Women in Pensions – Chicago. Nancy is a level I
candidate in the C.F.A. program.
Barbara Vesely, CPA, Vice President of Finance &
Treasurer – Barb is responsible for all corporate financial
matters, regulatory issues, and employee benefits. Before joining
Marquette, Barb was with Ennis, Knupp & Associates, where she served
as Assistant Controller to the Chief Financial Officer. Education:
B.S. Accounting, Millikin University. Barb is a Certified Public
Accountant. Member of the AICPA and Illinois CPA Society.
Rita Cirullo, Office Manager – Rita is responsible for the
daily operations of the firm, including overseeing the report
production process. In addition, she is responsible for the
coordination of quarterly investment manager compliance reporting,
scheduling, and organizing corporate events.
Micha Kerr, Administrative Assistant – Micha is responsible for
assisting with daily firm administration, including database
management, switchboard operation, and financial statement
coordination.
