Ben Mohr is the director of fixed income for Marquette Associates and has 22 years of investment experience. An owner of the firm, Ben has been with the company since 2014 and provides thought-leadership on fixed income investing as well as fixed income asset allocation oversight. Ben is responsible for leading the due diligence of fixed income asset managers, providing guidance on fixed income product selection, and developing actionable views based on a macroeconomic and capital markets outlook. He is vice chair of the firm’s traditional investment manager search committee, vice chair of the healthcare committee, and a member of the investment committee and sustainable investing group.
A regular moderator and panelist at Institutional Investor, Pension Bridge, and Markets Group conferences, Ben has been quoted by financial publications such as MarketWatch and FundFire. Ben’s experience includes investment banking at Jefferies, where he completed M&A transactions and debt and equity financings, including the $19 billion Delphi Automotive financial restructuring. More recently he was in private equity at a Bear Stearns Merchant Banking successor, where he grew portfolio companies by completing add-on acquisitions.
Ben holds a B.S. in economics from the California Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago, the Economic Club of Chicago, and the Old Masters Society at the Art Institute of Chicago.
