Jeremy Zirin Speaking at Midwest Institutional Real Estate Forum 9/25

May 22, 2019

On Wednesday, September 25, Jeremy Zirin, CAIA will be speaking at the Markets Group 4th Annual Midwest Institutional Real Estate Forum in Chicago.

Jeremy will be moderating a panel entitled, “Institutional Overview: Examining the Role of Real Estate/Real Assets in a Diversified Investment Portfolio.” The panel takes the perspective that multiple market indicators suggest we’re in a “late stable” stage for most property types globally and seeks to address the following questions:

  • With a relatively strong global economy and healthy property market fundamentals, where do we see global capital flows, cap rates, and the risk-return spectrum for 2019?
  • How are investors moving up and down the risk-return spectrum (Core vs. Non-Core)?
  • How has competition in the space affected the investment characteristics that clients now want? What long-term secular trends are influencing decision making?
  • Real estate has a dual character, making it possible to develop fixed income and capital growth investment strategies according to the investor’s needs. Where are clients getting income and capital appreciation within real estate? Where are market opportunities in United States vs. International?

The forum is an annual meeting for investment officers and trustees from public and corporate pensions, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and hospital plans from the Midwest region to learn about institutional real estate allocation strategies.
