On Thursday, September 15, 2016, Dave Smith, CFA and David Hernandez, CFA will be participating in the Illinois State Treasurer’s Diverse Managers Forum. Hosting one of several breakout sessions, Marquette will lead a discussion on investment manager search and due diligence. Specifically geared toward minority, woman, veteran and disabled-owned (MWVD) firms, the Treasurer’s Diverse Managers Forum aims to highlight the significance of diverse investment firms in inviting growth and opportunity within communities and successfully fulfilling fiduciary duties.
“Using diverse investment firms is not only about creating growth and opportunity in our communities, but it’s integral to our fiduciary duties. It’s good for business, and it’s good for the State of Illinois,” said Treasurer Michael Frerichs.
The event will also feature several key presentations on topics such as the Illinois Funds Money Market Fund, 529 college savings plans, and venture capital and growth equity. Attendees and MWVD investment professionals will ultimately learn how to position themselves for business opportunities with the Treasurer’s Office.
