Greg Leonberger Speaking at Markets Group 2025 Institutional Fall Retreat 11/18

On Tuesday, November 18, Greg Leonberger, FSA, EA, MAAA, FCA will be speaking at the Institutional Fall Retreat hosted by Markets Group in Amelia Island, Florida.

Greg will be moderating a panel entitled, “Fixed Income: Trends Shaping Today’s Landscape,” described as follows: Federal Reserve rate cuts are undetermined, but what will result from the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet and the U.S. government’s borrowing needs? Given this precarious moment in time, investors are left wondering what role bonds should play within their portfolios. This panel will aim to answer such key questions as:

• How might deficit expansion be magnified by persistently high rates?
• What are potential side effects of the Fed suppressing the 10-year Treasury yield? And how would it change if the Fed unloaded its $7 trillion in bonds?
• How is the liquidity in the bond market and what is the impact on fixed income portfolios?
• How will we refinance the mountain of debt, what are the implications, and who will buy the paper?
• What will be the long term value of the U.S. dollar?
